Si Hing Kevin Murphy Si Hing Kevin Began his Martial Arts Training with Shorin Ryu Karate at the age of 10. After training for 7 years and nearly attaining his brown belt, he discontinued his training in favor of other extra-curricular activities and preparation for college. After earning his Bachelor of Arts Degree, Master of Music Degree and landing his first teaching position, things wound down in his life and he realized he missed the martial arts. After some research he was not able to find a school to continue his karate training but became intrigued by Kung-fu. He began his Kung-fu training at the Shaolin Wushu Kung Fu Institute in the fall of 2001. It was there that he met and trained under Sifu Dale among other sifus (Sifu Ron & Sifu Rob). By the time he was a green sash he was accepted as a member of the S.W.A.T. team. After 4 years of training, he learned about the CMAC and joined in August of 2005. Falling in love with the "family" atmosphere at the CMAC after only a couple of months of training, he had a long talk with Sifu about how he can give back to the school. He proposed a redesign of the website submitting his work to Sifu and Si Jieh Evita for approval. He has been maintaining and updating the site ever since. In September of 2006 he requested to begin the process to become a Si Hing. Three months later, on December 22 2006, the title was officially granted. Si Hing Kevin looks forward to continuing his martial arts training, hoping it will take him to black sash and beyond.
