Requirements:

1.) At least a purple sash with the school.
2.) Must be in good standing with the school.
3.) Must submit at least a one page letter explaining:
a. How has Kung Fu influenced your life?
b. Where do you see yourself in the school in 3 years?
c. What does respect mean to you?

If accepted to be a Si Hing or Si Jieh, then the student must:

4.) Present three gifts:
a. 1st gift of the school
b. 2nd gift to the Sifu
c. 3rd gift to yourself
(the gifts are a sign of respect and do not have to be expensive, just some thought behind them)
5.) Present Lucky Money to the school:
(There is no monetary minimum or maximum, the contribution should be a sign of respect and well wishes for the school's growth. The gift of money is for tradition as it is customary to present to your school.)

*Note: Gifts or monetary contributions can be turned away if deemed inappropriate or disrespectful.

Benefits for becoming a Si Hing or Si Jieh:

1.) You will be permitted to wear the red formal top and instructor's shirt
2.) Your status in the school will be more of as a family member, not a student
3.) You will become a member of the Committee for Si Hings and Si Jiehs
4.) Discounts on merchandise and uniforms
5.) You will be invited to special training sessions within the school or with other members of the Kung Fu community
6.) You will be invited to yearly get-a-ways and trips
7.) You cannot lose your status in the school unless it is voted on and approved by the Committee of Si Hings and Si Jiehs and Sifu.
8.) You can not obtain the title of Sifu unless you are a Si Hing or Si Jieh
